I went through TSA, the workers seemed a little stern or aggressive, as people were in line taking off their shoes, putting stuff in bins, going through the body scan, etc etc. I understand they have to take their job seriously and must be stressful at times with difficult people. The lady in front of me was quite rude when they said they were going to check her bag as it was in the scanner. I am glad I sailed right by and passed through quickly with my laptop, shoes, and carry on. Total time was less than 1. I thought 3 hours would be enough time to get off the plane, through customs and onto our next flight back to SF. Well. I THOUGHT WRONG. We landed. and the customs line was SOOOO LONG. ALMOST missed our flight. It was pretty ridicuolous. We legit got through customs, got our luggage. I asked someone where we would go to try to make our flight from LA to SF. TSA to get back into the domestic side for our connecting flight back north. I barely made it to the gate. Dont know how upset Id be if we had missed it but that was RIDICULOUS. There isnt much more space to expand west of the airport because its already the ocean. They need to expand east, and its going to be difficult. Best solution is to use another airport. The bathrooms are so small that there was a line almost as long as the line for TSA. Idiots. From 3 to 2 stars. As LAX goes through their modernization they did a lot right. The food is better but more expensive and the facilities are nice looking. Heres what they did wrong smaller capacity restrooms and fewer of them and rock hard waiting chairs. Id like to meet the sadistic person who decided on them. Horrible, horrible. This is at least in my top three airports, if not 1.
